Liminal, Threshold, Inkling
(From left to right)
2019
Acrylic, pigment on aluminium composite panel
120 x 60 cm
Embarking on travels and journeys involves a compression of places and time, the natural elements of the Earth’s surface dissolving into movement and infinite expanses of colour - as we process views from the windows of airplane cabins or bodies of cars. In our mind’s eye, while transitioning from point to point, static landscapes and infrastructure condense into gradients and streams of light; placing us briefly in a liminal state, caught momentarily between different destinations. Each shrouded body within the works represents a vessel, traveling through space.
Exhibited in VADA Untapped 2019, Affordable Art Fair, F1 Pit Building, Singapore
